Gloves Cleaning & Care

Many of our gloves are labeled as ‘dry clean only’ because improper washing methods can cause irreversible damage. However, with careful attention, some materials can be hand- or machine-washed. When in doubt, feel free to contact us for guidance.

Swiss Cotton, Lace, and Tulle

These materials can be machine-washed using a delicate cycle if handled with care:

  • Place the gloves in a ‘delicates’ bag for added protection.
  • Avoid overloading your machine and handle bows and trims with caution, as they are fragile.

Sueded Cotton, Merino Wool, and Cashmere

These gloves are best hand-washed with gentle care:

  • Use warm water and pure soap flakes.
  • Gently wash and rinse multiple times without scrubbing.
  • Allow the gloves to air dry naturally—avoid wringing, tumble drying, or exposing them to artificial heat.
  • While still slightly damp, reshape the gloves by gently pulling them back into form.

Silk, Satin, and Velvet

  • These luxurious materials require dry cleaning only for proper care.

Leather

  • Leather gloves should only be cleaned by a specialist dry cleaner to maintain their quality and durability.

Kidskin or Lambskin Gloves

For gloves made of kidskin or lambskin:

  1. Start by using a soft, clean white pencil eraser to gently remove marks.
  2. If the eraser doesn’t work, try a gentle leather cleaning solution, but proceed with caution—liquid cleaners can potentially damage the leather.

Storage Tips

  • Store your gloves folded as you received them, with the thumb tucked in.
  • Keep them away from sources of heat and humidity to preserve their condition and shape.

By following these care and storage tips, you can enjoy the beauty and functionality of your gloves for years to come.
